Dr. Varaidzo Denhere

Bio

Dr. Varaidzo Denhere is currently a Senior Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Johannesburg in the Johannesburg Business School. In 2020 she co-developed content material for an online Short Learning Program for Professional Accountants and Business professionals in the field of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Johannesburg. In 2020-2021 she participated as a research assistant in an ETDP SETA Project on “Implications of the fourth industrial revolution in the Education, Training and Development Sector”. In November 2021, Dr. Denhere was a Convention Session Panelist at the 14th Green Building Convention at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in South Africa addressing the topic titled, “The impact and potential benefits of Artificial Intelligence for the Gauteng City Region in light of the proposed City-Region Planning House,” for the Gauteng City-Region Planning House. She was part of the research assistants’ team for the Namibia 4IR Task Force in 2021-2022

In September 2023, she was a speaker at a half-day CIMA Conference for the Members in Practice in South Africa, where she spoke about “AI, whether it will save us or sink us and what it will do in the next decade”. Furthermore, she has been the conference secretary for the International Conference of Accounting and Business (I-CAB) hosted by the University of Johannesburg form 2021 to 2023. She has published in the area of risk management, integrated reporting, AI and the digital transformation.
